In Viborg's pedestrian street, 35 shops have joined a shared alarm network, facilitated by the trade association Vi er Viborg after several shops saw a rise in thefts. When one shop presses its alarm, the other shops in the scheme are alerted, so there are many more people to call on in a difficult situation. And with no shared guard in the street any more, the alarm has become even more important.

The Danish Administration of Justice Act allows a citizen's arrest when a person is caught during or immediately after a criminal act, but the person must be handed over to the police as soon as possible. Never use more force than necessary, always be two, and let the goods go if the person becomes aggressive.
In principle yes. Where there is a risk of violence, the manager must assess whether working alone creates a particular risk, for instance because a lone employee cannot get help quickly. If the risk cannot be addressed, the employee may not work alone. An agreed way of calling for help is part of the answer.
