Safety on Your Wrist

Apple Watch + Linucare: fall detection, low heart rate and crashes trigger an automatic alarm to family — with a 5-second countdown.

Safety on your wrist has gone from idea to everyday technology. With Linucare on Apple Watch you get both the classic one-press alarm to family — and an automatic safety net that steps in when you can't press the button yourself.

We have recently expanded the integration significantly. Apple Watch's own sensors for falls, heart rhythm and crashes now act as direct triggers for the Linucare alarm. If something serious happens and you don't respond within 5 seconds, the alarm automatically calls your relatives — with GPS location.

5 detectors with a 5-second countdown

Linucare builds on top of Apple Watch's state-of-the-art health and motion sensors and connects them directly to your relatives. You choose which detectors are active:

  • Fall detection — hard fall + no response = automatic alarm. Recommended for elderly and active seniors.
  • Low heart rate — pulse drops toward zero (fainting, cardiac arrest). Recommended if you have a known heart condition.
  • High heart rate — monitoring during physical activity or against a specific upper threshold.
  • Irregular heart rhythm — for cardiac patients under monitoring.
  • Crash detection — serious car accidents detected via severe deceleration. Relevant if you drive often.

Common to all five: a 5-second countdown lets you dismiss the alarm with a single press if it was just a stumble or a brief heart-rate dip. All settings are configured directly in the Linucare app — no need to touch Apple Watch's own SOS configuration.

The difference from Apple Watch's own SOS

Apple Watch's built-in SOS dials the emergency number and sends your location to the rescue services — a life-saving feature, but it comes from a stranger who doesn't know you.

Linucare on Apple Watch works in addition to Apple's own SOS and connects you first with people you know: spouse, children, a care contact. They get a phone call, an SMS and a link to your location. If no one picks up within a configurable time, the system can escalate — and you still have the emergency-number function as the outermost safety net.

Linucare on Apple Watch is included in every Linucare subscription — you don't need a separate plan for the watch. It's particularly well suited to active elderly, people with a heart history, and families who want the best of both worlds: Apple's medically validated sensors plus Linucare's direct family alarm.
